Derek spent his career supporting others. As Director of Care at Erskine Veterans Care, his role meant long days on his feet and little time sitting still. But knee osteoarthritis gradually began to take that away. The condition left him unable to finish even short walks with his golden-doodle.After trying other options, Derek decided to explored #Arthrosamid as a treatment in both #knees at Glasgow Private Clinic under the care of Dr. Manas Tiwari.When we caught up with Derek, he said:“Within in two weeks, I was fully pain free and back to normal. I think I only realised quite how bad my pain had been when I found myself almost learning to walk again and totally adjusting my gait. I was no longer stooping over and for the first time in years, I was fully upright again.“Now, I can walk my golden-doodle dog for miles. Previously, I’d sometimes have to ring one of the girls to come and pick us up. I was in too much pain to make the return journey.“And more than anything I can sleep. Nick, a passionate golfer, had been living with ongoing knee pain that was limiting his mobility and affecting his enjoyment of the game.Three years ago, he received Arthrosamid® under the care of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Andrew Miller, becoming one of the first #patients in #Wales to be treated with the hydrogel injection.Nearly three years post‑treatment, Nick reports that his knees remain pain‑free, flexible and in excellent condition. I am really delighted for Sarah and her fantastic outcome after #arthrosamid treatment with me at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital. 🏃♀️ Sylvia’s Story: From Setbacks to Saddlebacks 🐎After a decade of persistent knee pain, Sylvia—a dedicated sports therapist and keen #runner—found herself having to step back from the activities she loved.“It stopped me running,” she explained. “As soon as it was getting bad, I just stopped. After a serious knee injury, Jon Pile, 44 from Watlington faced the possibility of giving up running altogether. But thanks to treatment from Dr George Bownes from Citius Health using a cutting-edge hydrogel implant #Arthrosamid (2.5% iPAAG) Jon made a remarkable recovery.It marked the triathlete’s first race after he fell during a #run on #holiday last August. He was left in a significant amount of #pain and struggled to #walk, play football in the garden with his children, or complete basic household tasks.On his birthday, Jon Pile took on 50km of the Raceto the Stones — the  UK’s largest ultra-marathon - pushing through 35°C heat and crossing the finish line in 6h36m.🗣️ Jon said: “It was a really good day and a really nice way to celebrate a birthday. The event’s brilliant, it’s so friendly, all the other competitors are chatting along as you’re running.“There are brilliant aid stations, all the volunteers and marshals are lovely and it’s beautiful — we live in a very beautiful part of the world. 🏃♂️ Mark Warner: Running Again After Years of Knee PainFor six years, Mark Warner—dentist, #runner, and member of the Elvet Striders—lived with chronic knee pain. Having worked as a Court Coverer whilst at University, lived on Church Road during my GP training & worked as a Sports Medicine Doctor for the Players for many years, Wimbledon is a great experience however you interact with it. Poetry of scientific development in medicine. The therapeutic area of #jointhealth which used to be conservative for decades, currently lives through the period of explosive growth in scientific research and transformational changes in R&D approaches. The scientific development in this therapeutic area resembles an epic drama written according to the rules of classical dramaturgy with its own heroes and villains, romantic revolutionaries and cynical sceptics, bold visionaries and conservative followers, and excited spectators.   The latest act of this drama was staged during the last days at the annual congress of OARSI - Osteoarthritis Research Society International in the futuristic South Korean city of Incheon, which served as excellent stage scenery. Gladiators of medical science (and their investors) came to the arena to fight with their revolutionary concepts, ideas, and clinical data on #biopharmaceuticals, #genetherapies, #stemcell technologies, #tissueengineering, innovative implants, and #biotech products. And despite many casualties in this deadly fight of ideas and concepts, the therapeutic field is steadily moving toward helping more and more patients with osteoarthritis. As #2025 begins, we are pleased to share the story of former GB #athlete Allison Curbishley's journey to regain her #mobility and reduce the #pain and #discomfort caused by #knee #osteoarthritis.As a former British 400m athlete, Allison Curbishley competed at the World and Olympic Games, winning medals at the Commonwealth and European Championships. Unfortunately, her career was cut short by escalating knee problems, including 10 surgeries, which led to her retirement in 2003.Now based in #Northumberland with her partner, Steve Cram, Allison works as a BBC broadcaster, runs an events company, and holds a Sport and Exercise Sciences degree from the University of Birmingham. While staying active post-retirement, she’s had to adjust her activities due to pain and mobility challenges caused by knee osteoarthritis (OA).Allison met physiotherapist Paul Hobrough over a decade ago and has been seeing him since for treatment to manage discomfort and improve mobility linked to her former injuries.Six months ago, she tried #Arthrosamid to help reduce her pain and improve her mobility. Since then, she has noticed positive changes in her daily activities. Allison mentioned: "I had treatment with Arthrosamid® six months ago now (11th July 2024)– it’s a simple, single hydrogel injection, performed quickly (15 minutes) and without pain in Paul’s clinic. I only felt a slight discomfort at the site of injection itself but was then able to bend my knee to a decent degree and was back at home recovering the same day. The slight swelling came down after a couple of days with some anti-inflammatories, and I was able to walk around all day with no pain. This can help you remain active longer.
